June 30 is the next #MSWL day (+ more on #PitMad and #PitchWars)

Writers, June 30, 11-5 EST (8-2 PST) is the next…Manuscript Wish List Day! It’s a great way to find out what agents and editors really want to read. How cool is that? It’s not everyone in the industry, but the agents and editors who have signed up on the #MSWL site is a big community, and growing. From the Manuscript Wish List site:

Manuscript Wish List and #MSWL are designed to answer one crucial question in the submissions process: “What do you [agents and editors] wish you had in your inbox?”

I just finished a manuscript and have it out on query (more on that process next time). If I don’t hear back from this round, June 30 is a perfect time to gather a group of writer friends in a coffee shop and have fun looking for matches (while doing the hard work of querying together). It’s also a nice way to remember that there’s someone for everyone. I believe they intended that phrase to mean that there’s an agent and editor for every writer. LET ME HAVE MY DREAM.

Another thing to know, #MSWL is not #PitMad or #PitchWars— writers don’t pitch for #MSWL. There are three separate Twitter events happening in the near future:

  1. #MSWL on June 30. Read what agents and editors are looking for.
  2. #PitMad on September 8 and December 1, 2016 (just happened on June 9). Pitch your MS in 140-characters.
  3. #PitchWars on August 3, 2016. You pitch a polished MS to be paired with an online mentor.

Have fun with whatever hashtag you use! ######################
